FAQ
Also known as a lightning pitch, it’s an oral communication exercise that involves presenting yourself and your project to a panel of judges.
- Try to get the audience excited about your idea! Explain briefly why you should win the prize. Technical achievement is not our main concern. It’s your personality, your skills and, if necessary, a bit of fantasy or humour that will reach us best. We believe that it is by seeing you or hearing your voice that we will best understand your motivation.
You can also use the pitch video as preparation. Each finalist will be invited to present their idea in front of our audience. You will then have the same amount of time as for the video pitch. The main difference is that you’ll be presenting live on stage, in front of our audience, with very little help. To encourage you, you can also suggest guests that we would be happy to invite to the final. The total number of guests is limited.
A pitch video for the Innovation Award generally includes the following points: - Explain the problem you want to solve:
- Who is your target group? How important do you think it is for them that you solve this problem for them? Can you justify this?
- What alternative solutions already exist? What are your advantages?
- How will you get them to support your solution? What will you do next? Which people or organisations could or will help you?
- Make an invitation to your audience: what are you looking for most at the moment? Why should you win our prize?
These points are not a recipe for success. Feel free to design your video according to your own ideas or tastes. These points should serve as a guide if you are not yet very experienced.
We look forward to hearing from you!
You have two options:
- Send us a link to a sharing space (Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, etc.) where you have uploaded/downloaded your video beforehand.
- Use a video hosting platform such as YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion, which requires you to have an account on the chosen platform.
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any problems!
